Taawon — The National Platform for Volunteering and Social Responsibility ("Taawon", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of its users. Taawon operates under the supervision of the Development Fund and in partnership with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, and the Ministry of Sports and Youth. In accordance with United Nations guidelines on youth participation in volunteer work, users must be 16 years of age or older to register and fully benefit from Taawon's services. Users under 16 may participate in activities and missions posted through the platform only with the intervention, supervision, and explicit consent of a parent or legal guardian.

How and Why We Use Your Data

We collect and process your personal data for the following purposes:

Some Taawon features are accessible without registration, such as browsing initiatives and announcements. However, active participation — including applying for volunteering missions, earning points, launching Community Calls, or posting activities — requires a registered account.

b) Based on your account type

For Volunteers

  • Applying for volunteering missions and community initiatives
  • Earning, tracking, and redeeming motivational points for benefits and rewards
  • Documenting volunteering hours and skills in a certified digital record
  • Launching and managing Community Calls
  • Obtaining official documentation of volunteering activity

For Public Sector, Organizations & Academic Institutions

  • Publishing volunteering needs and community initiatives
  • Managing and responding to Community Calls
  • Accessing volunteer profiles and evaluations relevant to posted missions
  • Tracking participation and measuring social impact
  • Coordinating with the platform on national development priorities

For the Private Sector

  • Launching community activities and social responsibility initiatives
  • Advertising services, discounts, and exclusive benefits for active volunteers
  • Posting employment and training opportunities
  • Accessing platform advertising spaces to support platform sustainability

c) To improve and personalize our services

We analyze how users interact with the platform to develop new features, improve existing ones, and deliver a more relevant experience.

d) To communicate with you

We may send you service updates, notifications about your account activity, promotional offers, and responses to your inquiries.

e) To maintain a safe and trusted environment

We process data to detect and prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and violations of our Terms of Service.

Community Calls & Points System

Community Calls: When you submit a Community Call — whether proposing an initiative, suggesting a mission, or flagging a community need — the content you submit becomes part of the platform's operational data and may be reviewed by Taawon administrators and accredited entities for the purpose of converting it into an actionable mission or initiative.

Points System: Your volunteering activity, participation evaluations, and points balance are recorded in your digital profile. This data is used to calculate rewards and generate your certified volunteering record.
